Should have kept it a secret! I made this mixed media piece, titled “Take that”, with the idea of representing kid’s play. In it I used one of my Grandson’s plastic toy guys. (at the bottom of the piece). I made the BIG mistake of not keeping that a SECRET. When I showed Dominic (3 years old), he wanted his guy back (you know, because he only has about 60 at my house, and he’d sure need this one back). So it cost me a trade of two of my miniature lizards and one of my miniature frogs. (similar to the ones I used in the collage,) which he took home and promptly lost. SO the next time I steal from his overflowing, he has no idea what all is in there, huge toy box at my house, I am SO keeping it a SECRET!

For Inspire Me Thursday’s Theme: Art and Architecture
As a digital artist, this is my version of Street Art. My daughter Julie took the picture of this architectural embellishment on a building along Grand Ave in St. Louis. I DIGITALLY added the clown climbing up the wall, inspired by the wonderful street art of OS GEMEOS, http://www.lost.art.br/osgemeos_02.htm.

Coffee and donuts: I worked on this piece about 2 years ago. Recently I have been studying the pop art of Tom Wesselman. For Inspire Me Thursday’s challenge of abandoned art I decided to go back and rework this with more of a defined paper cut appearance, influenced by Wesselman’s “Still life with blowing curtain”.

"The Heart takes the Cheese" I drew this in Painter 9 as a "Cheesy" Valentine's Day card, and then turned it into a "Color your own" card (Using a woodcut filter set for black only) for a local store.

This is a self portrait of me that I use on my "artist statement". It looks just like me, pretty much, well the hair and the eyes are brown, at least.

About my "Blurb" Book
I made this “Blurb” book in January after learning about the Blurb company from my brother who gave me a Blurb photo books for Christmas . Blurb is an e-company that creates and prints books one at a time. At the Blurb web site there is software to download to allow the user to set up the pictures and words on each page. Then the book file is uploaded to Blurb. There is an option of softbound or hard cover. The book I created is a 300 page hard cover book with full color pictures on each page, it cost me $60. (Prices vary per number of pages.) For me, this was a good buy. I was able to have full color 8x10 inch pages for what ended up being about 20 cents a page. I couldn’t have printed the pictures myself and put them in a photo album for that price.

I put many of my digital drawings from the past 6 years in the book. Although my style varies ( all over the place), the software allows the user to work on a two page spread at a time. I could be sure that the two digital drawings I put on any two open pages worked well with each other.

I have no financial connection with Blurb, I am posting this because I’m sure that there are other artists that have digital photos of their work that would find this a very nice way to save and display a copy of their art. The Blurb web site is: http://www.blurb.com/
